Across the deserts, plains, and mountains of northern India, an herb has been gathered for more than 6,000 years to be used in cooking, religious rituals, and in Ayurvedic medicine. Most commonly referred to as Ashwagandha, or sometimes “winter cherry,” it is still a mainstay today, prized by those who adhere to the principles of traditional Indian medicine linking mind, body, and spirit.

Q: Why does the back have a warning label with proposition 65 on it ?
Store Owner
11/14/24
A: Hi Todd, thanks for the question! We include the Prop 65 warning label on our products to ensure compliance with the California law that requires labeling when lead is present, even when that level is 1,000 times less than the level that has been shown to cause harm. All plants, even those grown organically, naturally absorb minerals from the soil including lead. As a USDA certified organic company, we never use synthetic chemicals that would contribute to lead in the soil, and we thoroughly test every batch of our herbs in accordance with the American Herbal Products Association’s (AHPA) standards for heavy metals.

Q: What percentage of withanolides? Or how many grams of withanolides?
Store Owner
06/03/24
A: Hi Olivia, thank you for the question! As a whole herb company, we use the unaltered and natural whole roots and herbs that we grow. Because of this, we don’t measure or print the amount of constituents, such as withanolides, in our herbs because that can vary among different harvests. Our formulas provide the fullest spectrum of each herb’s unique phytochemical signature. We believe whole herbs and whole herbs combined with a whole herb extract are almost always more effective than extracts alone.

Q: Does your company test Ashwagandha for heavy metals. GMP certification
Store Owner
02/22/24
A: Hi Sam, thanks for the question! Each batch of Ashwagandha is tested by a third-party certified lab for a wide range of contaminants such as fungus, mold, yeast, bacteria, pesticides, and heavy metals, as per our ISO 9002 Certification of Manufacturing Accountability and our GMP (Good Manufacturing Procedures) certifications. We do not use any herbs that are not in full compliance with American Herbal Products Association’s (AHPA) safety standards and regulations for daily allowable heavy metal intake.

Q: How long is it safe to keep taking your Ashwagandha? It has been so helpful for my anxiety. I take one pill every morning only.
Store Owner
10/16/23
A: Hi Julie, We're so glad the Ashwagandha has been helpful! It is considered wise to take intermittent breaks from all herbs and herbal protocol so that your body is better able to respond to the benefits. For our herbal supplements, we suggest taking weekends off from supplementation, or advise taking at least one full week off per month.
