I like most of all Organic India's philosophy - I vote w/ my dollars. I believe the Moringa is of superior quality grown by farmers treated w/ dignity and respect. I now use 1tsp vs the 1 TBSP I was using of my former brands added to my smoothies. The educational information on their website has been immensely helpful. Namaste Organic India!

Q: Why is there a prop65 warning label on the moringa capsules? Are these safe to take?

We include the Prop 65 warning label on our products to ensure compliance with the California law that requires labeling when lead is present, even when that level is 1,000 times less than the level that has been shown to cause harm. All plants, even those grown organically, naturally absorb minerals from the soil including lead. As a USDA certified organic company, we never use synthetic chemicals that would contribute to lead in the soil, and we thoroughly test every batch of our herbs in accordance with the American Herbal Products Association’s (AHPA) standards for heavy metals.

Each batch of Moringa is tested by a third-party certified lab for a wide range of contaminants such as fungus, mold, yeast, bacteria, pesticides, and heavy metals, as per our ISO 9002 Certification of Manufacturing Accountability and our GMP (Good Manufacturing Procedures) certifications. We do not use any herbs that are not in full compliance with American Herbal Products Association’s (AHPA) safety standards. Our Moringa is grown in Rath, Uttar Pradesh, India.

A: Hi Dani, thanks for the question! Because the nutritional content in our herbs varies between harvests, we do not print a nutritional facts panel. Current research suggests Moringa is rich in Vitamin C, Calcium, Vitamin A, Protein, Potassium, and Fiber. Nutrient averages based on many studies that tested for Moringa’s nutritional content indicate protein at between .4-.6 g per serving.
